WBCSD 和 its members are committed to ensuring that the ambition, action 和 accountability of the private sector enable trust in, 和 iterative progress towards, a shared agenda for food systems transformation.
Complementing the Emirates Declaration, the UN 气候 Change High Level Champions have coordinated a multistakeholder 行动呼吁 to transform food systems, bringing together players from all non-state actor groups, including businesses, 农民群体, civil society organizations, cities 和 others.
WBCSD is mobilizing the private sector to contribute to this shared vision, 和, ensuring this ambition is matched by action, we have worked with our members to develop a supporting Business Statement of Action.
In this Business Statement of Action, WBCSD 和 leading business signatories highlight the steps businesses are taking to contribute to the collective effort needed, commit to key priority actions to accelerate further change 和 call on industry peers, governments 和 non-state actors to work with us to drive their widescale adoption.
This builds on previous advocacy efforts by the business community for accelerated action to achieve sustainable food systems, including the Business Declaration on 食物 Systems Transformation signed by 228 senior executives at the UN 食物 Systems Summit in 2021. Two years later, WBCSD, in collaboration with the World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA), has undertaken a progress update against the commitments companies made through the Business Declaration.
